The Embassy of the Argentine Republic in the Lebanese Republic is pleased to inform you about the call to apply for The Emilio F. Mignone International Human Rights Award in its 2021 edition has been launched.

The above mentioned Award, established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship in 2007, aims to recognize by Argentina institutions and / or foreign persons residing abroad who stand out in the promotion and protection of human rights in their respective countries, both on issues of the fight against impunity for massive and systematic human rights violations and on issues related to civil and political, economic, social and cultural rights, among others.

The delivery ceremony will be held on December 9, 2021, and it will depend on the pandemic situation if it will be face-to-face or virtual.

In all cases, the receipt of the proposal will be confirmed by email, as a formalization of the application.

The applications received will be examined by the Selection Committee made up of the National Secretariat for Human Rights, the Center for Legal and Social Studies (CELS), the Mignone Family and the Human Rights Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship.

The Selection Committee will choose three institutions or candidates and will raise the shortlist to the Minister of Foreign Affairs who will choose the winner.
