Second DNI update

It is compulsory to renew your DNI for a second time after you turn 14 years of age. Minors must attend the Embassy accompanied by their parents, who will need to submit their updated ID documents. After the 15th birthday, in addition to the DNI update fee, a fine equivalent to said fee must be paid.

REQUIREMENTS:

a) From 14 to 17 years-old

  • DNI.

Even though submitting the applicant's birth certificate is not compulsory, it is still advisable to do so.

b) From 18 to 20 years-old

  • DNI and birth certificate
  • DNI of the applicant's parents (if you do not present the DNI of at least one of your parents, you will need two witnesses to sign a sworn statement on your identity).

c) 21 years and older

  • DNI and birth certificate
  • Two witnesses to sign a sworn statement on the applicant’s identity.

Once the DNI application process is concluded, you will be given a receipt with the RENAPER website and a tracking number, so that you can do a follow up. Said website will indicate the moment in which the DNI arrives at this Embassy and is ready to be collected by its holder. You may collect it from Monday to Friday, from 09.30 until 14.00, without need for an appointment.

Fee: USD 15
