Yamila Cafrune is an Argentine Folk singer with Lebanese and Syrian roots, countries of origin of her grandparents.

Born in Buenos Aires on November 16 1966, she is the daughter of Jorge Cafrune, a renowned folk singer.

Yamila has recorded with prominent figures such as Horacio Guarany, Argentino Luna, "Los Cantores de Quilla Huasi", Soledad Pastorutti, Facundo Saravia, Facundo Ramírez and Raúl Palma, among others. She currently hosts a show on "Radio Nacional Foklórica de Buenos Aires" every thursday at 09:00 pm (Argentina).

With a broad folk repertoire that constitutes a musical tour of the Argentine geography, Yamila has become an icon of national folk music.
