On June 16, the official launch of the Commission for Dialogue on Malvinas took place in an act presided by Ambassador Mauricio Alice.

The Commission is formed by the following members:

• S.E. Ibrahim Najjar, Professor Emeritus of the Saint Joseph University School of Law (USJ), lawyer and former Minister of Justice (President of the Commission);

• His Eminence Metropolitan Silouan, Greek Orthodox Metropolitan of Byblos, Botris and Dependencies;

• Dr. Lara Karam, Rector of La Sagesse University.

• Dr. Rima Mattar, Vice President for International Affairs and Global Initiatives of the Saint Espirit de Kaslik University (USEK);

• M. Issa Goraieb, journalist and editorialist of the newspaper l'Orient-Le Jour

During the meeting, a fruitful debate was developed in which the members analyzed the current circumstances and future challenges of the Question of the Malvinas Islands, agreeing on the anachronistic nature of the colonial situation of the Islands and on the need to give greater visibility and diffusion to the issue, as a way to raise awareness
