The estimated processing time for visa applications is 21 days from the day of the consular interview. Requests made less than 21 days in advance of the travel date will not be accepted. This Embassy returns the passport to the holder after the consular interview is completed and does not keep it during the processing of the application.
- REQUIREMENTS
1. Complete application form with two 4x4 photographs, front, white background. DO NOT OMIT ANY OF THE FIELDS OF THE FORM.
2. Valid passport with a minimum validity of 6 months from the day you plan to enter Argentina. It must have at least one completely blank page.
3. If the applicant does not have an Entry Permit (Permiso de Ingreso) issued by the National Directorate of Migration (Dirección Nacional de Migraciones), he/she must provide an invitation letter from a company or entity in the Argentine Republic.
4. Note from the company or organization where the applicant works, explaining their position and the reason for their travel to Argentina.
5. Photocopy of the updated commercial license of the foreign company.
6. Round-trip ticket reservation.
7. In the case of travelers over 16 years of age, and when the requested period of stay exceeds six months, a copy of the apostilled or legalized criminal record certificate (translated if applicable), issued by the competent authority of the countries where there they have resided for more than 1 year during the last 3 years. The certificate will have the validity that the issuing authority has explicitly consigned in it. If there is no such date, it cannot be more than three months from the date of issue.
8. In the case of travelers over 16 years of age, and when the requested period of stay exceeds six months, a sworn statement about the lack of a criminal record in other countries, signed before the Consul in Arabic and Spanish. This declaration is printed and signed at the Embassy.
- RENURE
The inviting person or entity must be registered at the RENURE (Registro Nacional Único de Requirentes de Extranjeros) of the National Directorate of Migration (Dirección Nacional de Migraciones) and the registration must be valid at the time of issuing the invitation. The invitation letter must be signed by the person authorized to act on behalf of the company or entity, and must be legalized by a Public Notary (Escribano Público) and the Association of Notaries (Colegio Público de Escribanos).
In the event that the inviter is a public official not included in the next paragraph, the invitation letter may be legalized by an internal office. The Ministers of the Presidency, the Secretaries of State, the Military House of the Presidency, the Governors and their Ministers, the Head of Government of the City of Buenos Aires and his Ministers are exempted from the RENURE registration and the certification of their signature.
Diplomatic and Consular Representations and International Organizations accredited in Argentina are exempted from the requirement of signature certification by a Public Notary, but not from the RENURE registration, and must present the Letter of Invitation to the National Directorate of Ceremonial and Protocol of the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- INVITATION LETTER:
The invitation letter can be done in two ways:
a) In paper format. The inviter’s signature must be certified by Public Notary (Escribano Público) and legalized by the Association of Notaries (Colegio Público de Escribanos). In such case, the visa application may be processed with a scanned copy, but the visa will not be issued until the hard copy has arrived at this Embassy.
b) Through the on-line platform Trámites a Distancia (TAD), in the link below. This modality is more expeditious and saves the costs of certifications and shipping by postal mail.
