Protesta argentina por ejercicios militares en las Islas Malvinas.

La Cancillería Argentina ha tomado conocimiento el día 13 de octubre, a través del Servicio de Hidrografía Naval dependiente del Ministerio de Defensa, de la realización por parte del Gobierno británico de ilegítimos ejercicios militares en el área de las Islas Malvinas entre los días 19 y 28 de octubre de 2016, que incluirán el lanzamiento de misiles “Rapier”.
Ante ello, en el marco de las obligaciones y responsabilidades de nuestro país en materia de seguridad de la navegación en el Atlántico Sudoccidental, el Servicio de Hidrografía Naval emitió el 14 de octubre un radioaviso náutico informando sobre el desarrollo del ejercicio.
La República Argentina rechaza la realización de estos ejercicios en territorio argentino ilegítimamente ocupado por el Reino Unido, los que desconocen las resoluciones de las Naciones Unidas y de otros organismos internacionales, que instan a ambos países a reanudar las negociaciones a fin de encontrar una solución pacífica y definitiva a la disputa de soberanía, así como a abstenerse de realizar actos unilaterales en los territorios y espacios marítimos bajo disputa.
El accionar del Reino Unido se contradice asimismo con el principio de solución pacífica de las controversias, apoyado unánimemente por los países de la región y que se refleja en el rechazo a dichas acciones militares, puesto de manifiesto en declaraciones de los países del MERCOSUR y la UNASUR.
El día de hoy el Vicecanciller Carlos Foradori hizo entrega de una Nota al Embajador del Reino Unido en nuestro país con una formal y enérgica protesta ante los mencionados ejercicios militares, exigiéndole que se abstenga de realizarlos, a la vez que pondrá en conocimiento de la situación al Secretario General de las Naciones Unidas. –

On 13 October, the Argentine Foreign Ministry became aware, through the Argentine Naval Hydrographic Service of the Ministry of Defence, of the British Government's plans to conduct unlawful military exercises in the area of the Malvinas Islands on 19-28 October 2016, which will include the launch of “Rapier” missiles.
In view of this, within the framework of the obligations and responsibilities of our country in terms of navigation security in the Southwest Atlantic, the Argentine Naval Hydrographic Service broadcast a notice on 14 October to report on the planned military exercises.
The Argentine Republic condemns the performance of these exercises in Argentine territory unlawfully occupied by the United Kingdom, which are in disregard of the resolutions adopted by the United Nations and other international organizations that call on both parties to resume negotiations in order to find a peaceful and definitive resolution to the sovereignty dispute, as well as to refrain from taking unilateral action in the territories and maritime areas in dispute.
The actions of the United Kingdom are also contrary to the principle of peaceful settlement of disputes, which is unanimously supported by the countries of the region, as reflected in the condemnation of such military actions. This has been expressed in statements of MERCOSUR and UNASUR countries.
Today, Deputy Foreign Minister Carlos Foradori delivered a Note to the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Argentina, containing a formal, firm protest against the planned military exercises, requesting that the UK abstain from conducting such exercises, and informing that the situation will be brought to the UN Secretary General's notice.
